Fintastic

Fintastic brings seven interesting and contemporary Finnish brands to Stockholm

Finland has an abundance of outstanding design brands with a strong identity, but, unfortunately, they are not familiar to many people. This idea became the launching pad for the Fintastic concept, a project that will introduce several wonderful Finnish design companies to the Swedish market.

Fintastic brings together seven Finnish brands – Cover Story Paint, Finarte, Woodio, Vieser, Johanna Gullichsen, Ornäs and the designer Hanna Anonen – to create an exhibition for Stockholm Design Week 2022. All seven of the companies will get the opportunity to showcase their most relevant and interesting products at the residence of the Finnish ambassador. The curator of the exhibition is the Swedish stylist Annika Kampmann.

“We are thrilled to be able to present this new wave of Finnish design to the Swedish public. Design is one of the best-known aspects of Finnish culture in Sweden, but many are only aware of the older classics. We now hope that Swedes with an interest in design will discover these contemporary designers and companies working at the highest level,” says Elna Nykänen Andersson, Press and Cultural Councellor for Finland’s Embassy in Stockholm.

The project is the brainchild of Heli Thorén, a Finnish communications consultant from Moon Shooters, and James Stokes, a photographer living in Sweden. The idea is for Stockholm to be the first stop for the exhibition, and for Fintastic to continue to other countries with a new format and composition.

Fintastic will be open from 8 February to 10 February, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the address Västra Trädgårdsgatan 13. By invitation only.
